quarantine easter

Quarantined along with the rest of the world, John and I were able to enjoy a quiet little Easter at home.  We began the day with online church service, singing songs of praise and joy.  Afterwards, despite the urge to lay around and take naps all day, I prepared the Easter feast: pork loin stuffed with herbs and olives.  I also dyed Easter eggs using natural coloring from purple cabbage, beets, onion skins and turmeric. Very Pinterest.  It was super fun.  And messy.

Later on, my mother-in-law, who lives up the street, called us to say she had saved us a piece of her famous ricotta pie.  She left if for us on her front porch in a little glass pyrex.  It was delicious and as always, not too sweet (I don’t have any pictures of that because we ate it up).

We finished out the day with a walk and a little self-timer action at the park up the street.  We are two of the most awkward human beings in front of the camera.  But its so nice to look back and see what you wore and what you looked like on those special holidays, isn’t it?

Annie, You’re new website is the best read I’ve had in years! A pictorial feast for the eyes and a heartfelt hymn for the soul!
